I tend to distiguish between tiredness and being weary. Tiredness is more physical and the remedy is rest. When I am in this situation I consciously slow down by reading until I nod off.

When I am weary which is more psychological, I change my regular pattern or routine. Sometimes even something as mundane as taking a walk alone or going for an impromptu run helps.
