Steve – How was “Munich?”
Our next door neighbors and good friends from church (Monty & Sally) asked us out to a movie last night after Wed. night services. We told Sally to pick a movie. Greg’s blog was dedicated to Sally‚Äôs mother (‚ÄúBarbajohns) who just past away.

She picked “Memoirs of a Geisha.” It didn’t do too good on the “southern scale of movie rating” due to a severe lack of animals being shot and car chases and crashes.

For Christmas I gave Lex two movie tickets with the promise of a “date”, complete with some good old fashioned necking in the car. (it’s been a while!)
I think that’s the movie he wants to see. We’re looking forward to it.

Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaa.

We just saw the movie a few nights ago. I was touched and thought it was good, but I wasn’t overwhelmed by it.

On the other hand, I just got home from seeing “Munich” and I’m just depressed.

I reallllly need some fiction.

My favorite part of the movie was that my 5-year old son, Nick, kept telling me what was going to happen next. And there was much rejoicing.

I remember reading that Lewis once referred to the Narnia books as “the Bible re-told for children”, which I appreciate. I’m just trying to figure out how to convey actual Bible stories to my kids so they’ll remember them like Nick did with “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Advice welcome.

Greg, could it be the reason you have trouble is because you southern boys have difficulty reconciling the paradox of talking animals? How can you shoot a deer that is talking to you? Of course there is that other scenario that affects southern hunting boys – after a few brewski’s all the animals in the forest begin to talk.

I might guess I’m the only Christian left who simply did not enjoy those books. Tried to read them to our chidren and none of us found them enjoyable. But I’ve never enjoyed any of C. S. Lewis’ works. I’ve gained from them but didn’t “enjoy” reading them. Am I less spiritual? Can I remain a member of this blog community?
