My team – the iconic birds of prey, the eagles are out. So I am suffering from a little lack of desire vis a vis the superbowl.

I will still be a keen observer though. Both Seattle and the Steelers have recommended themselves to me and I can’t make up my mind which to pull for.

With the recent playoff history of sorry officiating, that might be a factor in which team scores the most points. I, too, have no preference in this game. Once USC lost it was all … oh, you’re talking NFL, aren’t you? This is SuperBowl smack, right? I still don’t care. But if I did care, I would want either Pittsburg or Seattle to win. Who’s playing??? I’m outta here.

Reese played in a city / school league “that didn’t keep score.” Someone forgot to mention that to the kids playing because they were certainly keeping score.

I love the Madden-esque nature of your prediction.

Weren’t you moved the first time you heard with your own ears the solution to the mystery of the ages, verily namely: that a team won’t win “unless it can put points on the board”?

How many hours of studying game films did it take for someone to be able to put into words: “It’s all about moving the football down the field and getting into the end zone”?

With wise insights like that, no wonder those guys make more than teachers.

James turns 5 in a couple of months and we’ve been talking about what sports he might play and what kind of leagues he might be in.

People’s Church has a league where they don’t keep score for the first two years and the kids just learn to play the game. Sounds perfect.

I love to win. But given how I never did, I had to learn to temper that desire. Blessed are the non-athletic, for they shall not care when cars hit their houses.
