She would look at her watch many many times. That Sunday roast was a big deal. One Sunday she forgot to put the roast in the oven. My brother had stayed home and she called him, woke him up, and told him to put the roast in. In a state of bleary-eyed sleepiness, he put the cake plate in instead. But we did have the roast for Sunday dinner. About that ... in the south the mid-day meal on a given Sunday can be called lunch or dinner. Any other day of the week, that meal would be lunch and the evening meal would be dinner. Don't know why ... just the way it is.
