Anyway, I agree with most of what stumptown says..EXCEPT, how can he say 'none of them appear to have died or suffered awful tragedy...' Has he not seen Yoko? Most of their best music is clearly the product of drugs, and as you rather belatedly discovered, often about drugs. None of them appear to have died or suffered awful tragedy as the result of drugs and they revoluionized music and are widely considered the greatest pop/rock band in history. So, given all the evils we already know about drugs, were the Beattles actually better off for taking them? Or, are we better off for them having taken them? Or is Ringo really the walrus? I remember watching some of the VH1 series on different bands where I learned so many things I didn't like. Back then, I did not know nor did I think about some of their life styles.
