good list… i saw the mention of ‘do not miss list’ and parents being on it… one of the main reasons we favor college ministries…

I was a youth minister for about three years, volunteer, so I’m not sure if that qualifies me or not. Had about 60 in the group at one time. Good time in my life, but I would not want to go back there. I like your list, though.

Good’uns! I’ve always insisted that our churches would be much healthier if we did “church” like we do Bible camp! The energy of youth mixed with the wisdom of the adults who are foolish enough to volunteer to work at Bible camp.

Although there are certainly great rewards that come from Youth Ministry, the 10 things I don’t miss about it are pretty easy to write too.

Ha! My vote (as I’m sure would be the case for most of our community) would be to let you post the heartwarming story tomorrow.

Now before some of you get mad or are offended at the list ask yourself “am I mad because this is true”?

I like No. 1!
This list may not be as inspirational, but yet enlightening because I know people, some of then relatives, with one or more of these traits. (Some day I will tell you the heart warming story when cousins of mine bought their daughter her first pair of stripper shoes) :

You’re An EXTREME Redneck When…..
1. You let your 14-year-old daughter smoke at the dinner table in front of her kids
2. The Blue Book value of your truck goes up and down depending on how much gas is in it.
3. You’ve been married three times and still have the same in-laws.
4. You think a woman who is “out of your league” bowls on a different night.
5. You wonder how service stations keep their rest-rooms so clean.
6. Someone in your family died right after saying, “Hey, guys, watch this.”
7. You think Dom Perignon is a Mafia leader.
8. Your wife’s hairdo was once ruined by a ceiling fan.
9. Your junior prom offered day care.
10. You think the last words of the “Star-Spangled Banner” are “Gentlemen, start your engines.”
