Sweet Tea
I’m a big fan of sweet tea which probably explains why I’m a big fan.
McDonald’s has recently unveiled a new southern product line featuring chicken and a biscuit, southern chicken sandwich and sweet iced-tea.
It’s clear to me that they are trying to capture some Chik-fil-A market share.
Good luck with that! (not going to happen)
The sweet tea right now is $1 for 32oz (right price, right size).
I’ll be sad when the promotional price ends, but until then . . . cheers!
I haven’t tried it yet, is it good? I’m also a sweet iced-tea fan. It was funny when we were in South Carolina for my husband’s graduation from Basic Training, whenever I ordered iced tea in a restaurant they would ask if I wanted it sweetened. When I said, “yes,” they would ask if I was sure because it was southern iced-tea. They almost “carded” me for it–”nope, girl’s from California, she can’t handle our sweetened tea.”
I bet it’s cheaper to make it yourself–especially when the promotional price ends.
Haven’t tried the sweet tea, but most of the places outside of the Mason-Dixon area simply have no idea what sweet tea really is! But I find the biscuits at McD’s far superior to those at Chik-fil-A. On the other hand, no one will come close to the taste of Chik-fil-A chicken!
When Doris and I were in D.C., it was a cultural shock to be in a restaurant and try to order “tea.” It’s always “unsweet” (because of diabetes) for me and “sweet” for her. After a few strange-to-say-the-least-expressions from waiters and waitresses, our transplanted Tennessee guide suggested we just order “tea–it will always be unsweet!”
is it really good? hadn’t seen that.
was sitting in a dingy, greasy, fried-smelling cafe with my parents two days into texas vacation and i almost ordered a soda…what was i thinking?! i love sweet southern iced tea… i’m sure that the biblical translation for that cup of cold, cold water is really iced tea..
