    We have satellite radio for three months as a promo in our Jetta.

    Tuning in to the comedy channel we were just in time to catch a Smothers Brothers routine.

    Here is their version of The Streets of Laredo (sing along if you know the tune):

    As I walked out on the streets of Laredo,
    As I walked out in Laredo one day,
    I spied a young cowboy all wrapped in white linen
    Wrapped in white linen as cold as the clay.

    I see by your outfit that you are a cowboy;
    I see by your outfit you are a cowboy, too;
    We see by our outfits that we are both cowboys.
    If you get an outfit, you can be a cowboy, too.

    Funny stuff.

      Them are fightin’ words ’round these parts.

      I don’t think I want one those outfits. My friends wear those thick starched shirts with their new starched jeans and go dancin’ in circles at the Texas Night Life Roadhouse (BYOB). I would get all kinds of chaffing if I dressed like that.

      Always loved the Smothers Brothers, though they could be quite politically to the left. Regarding your previous post on the pool situation, having had two above ground pools I can tell you they never give you a filter system that is strong enough. Both times we upgraded to a much stronger motor and larger filter. Otherwise it’s a battle all summer to keep the water clear … a battle you will seldom win.

      Wait…..you have full access to satellite radio and you are listening to the Smothers Brothers?

      Satellite radio with the Smothers Brothers is a serendipity.
