Which is why I always…ALWAYS…make it a point to thank the AV guys after I preach. The poor guy on PowerPoint even has to stay awake the whole time. That’s asking a lot!
Rule #2: Never do anything to make the audience cover their ears and shriek in pain.
Rule #3 – Be prepared to do your best imitation of a video if you can’t get it to play.
That happened at our church a couple of weeks ago when our sound guy couldn’t get the “At Our Church blah, blah,,” video to play. He took his mic and did a great imitation of the opening line that says, “Buckle up.”
Most of us thought the video was playing when we noticed the screen was still blank and the sound guy (a clear violation of rule #1) had a big grin on his face.
I wanted to comment, but this screeching sound was coming out of the computer.
