Inauguration Day
If we still lived in Arlington the girls would be down on the mall braving the crowd.
If we still lived there the boys would stay at home and bravely watch the television.
They like being in the crowd. We prefer watching the crowd.
Can’t we all just get along?
Yes we can!
Why isn’t the presidential inauguration in the Spring or Fall when the temps are not so extreme? Whoever set THIS date in THAT part of the country for THIS event was an idiot!
Many people ask me if I went to any games in 2002 when the Angels were in the World Series. I tell them that I bought that nice big TV so I wouldn’t HAVE to go to any of those games.
I’m a “great to be there” kind of guy until I can’t see what made it great to be there. What a crowd. I’ll take the big-screen t.v., munchies, and crowd control of the remote.
Inauguration day used to be March 4, but the 20th amendment changed it to January 20 because the citizens of the US believed it was too long between the election in November and March to swear in the new president.
Peace.
i like to be there…and then later, i can watch it if i want. just the same, if i can be with family or friends or community i’ll take which ever venue they are at.
