The Rains Came Down (and the floods came up)

In no way do I claim to speak with a prophetic voice (pathetic perhaps but not prophetic).

However, not long after the message on building your house on the right foundation and the certainty of storms, it started to rain.

It didn’t stop until early this morning.

Our backyard is a lake.

Our garage has again taken on water.

It doesn’t rain much here (frequency) but when it rains here it pours.

Ever notice that no matter how long or how hard it rains someone talks about the disruption of the rain followed by something like: “but we sure needed the rain.

Its like the ark floating by and someone tells you: “this is very inconvenient, but we sure needed the rain.

Hey, have you heard about somebody’s list (Forbes, I think) of most miserable cities in the US? Memphis was only one notch above Stockton, and we were both at the top or bottom, whichever the case may be………….indicating our being worst of the worst!! Maybe the rain was a consideration for you guys?? :)

It rained all day Monday. My family spent the day getting on one anothers’ nerves.

With all our rain lately (and we sure needed it!) the house and garage stayed dry, but we definitely need to so something to improve water flow away from the house in the front yard. Of course, my main concern whenever it rains is whether or not the psycho-puppy stayed dry.

one of the bonuses of portland is we don’t say that, ever.

i only hear “but we needed the rain” when i talk to my dad who is in texas.

Maybe Stockton needs a prophet rather than rain.
