I’m trying to think of a fitting way to honor his legacy . . .

I chose the local Ford dealership, an authorized AAA repair center, to do the repair work on my door.

$2100 worth of damage to the outside and inside of the door and they didn’t even get inside the truck.

That total is designed to either make me feel really good about my $250 deductible or a sign of a desperate dealership.

When they broke the window to get in the Jetta it only cost me $150 – I think I’ll put a notice in the window for the hoodlums to please break the window next time and leave the door alone.

The attempted break in of my truck last night completed the cycle.

Every single car we have owned in this miserable town has been “touched by vandals” (wasn’t that a television show?).

The good news is they were unable to gain entry (must have been a training event for the local chapter of future hoodlums).

The bad news is my door is scratched, the lock is busted, and my deductible is $250!

For the last however many weeks I’ve been regularly running on the treadmill.

Went out running this morning with our number one daughter and re-discovered the difference between between treadmill and road running.

The road was not moving underneath my feet!

Neighborhood dogs were going crazy with the breathing sounds I was making (at least I was still breathing).

We got to the last stretch, she said “okay we sprint from here to the end” and she took off.

My mind said “here we go boys, let’s accelerate and beat her to the finish line.”

My muscles said “who are you kidding?  We are currently running AT top speed.“

Gone are the discounts at the amusement parks and other such venues.

Starting today we must pay full price for the boy.

The calendar has turned one more page and the boy is 13.

One of my favorite regional dishes is called chilaquiles.

Been trying to make it at home but it just doesn’t taste the same.

Had some today for lunch at Suzy’s (a great mom & pop Mexican restaurant) and it still amazes me how simple this dish is and how I can’t seem to figure out the secret.
