Bible Major Geek
Brad made me aware that Barton W. Stone and Alexander Campbell both have active twitter accounts.
I recently added them as people I follow – some irony in that statement for sure!
The problem of course is not too many understand or appreciate dead founders of our movement humor.
Oh well, I guess the Bible major geek in me surfaces in unusual places.
Here’s a recent sample from Alexander Campbell:
Found our VBS Moses puppet floating face down in the baptistry today. I guess it didn’t part this time.
which he followed up by saying:
Huh. I though finding Puppet Moses yesterday was weird. You’ll never guess where I found puppet Noah . . .
Barton Stone said:
Alexander Campbell would never have found the puppets if he wasn’t trying to pad his baptism numbers.
and followed up with saying:
Was just asked what I do all day. Apparently, I answer annoying questions!
I really appreciate this approach to humor.
This may not be related (I don’t really care since its my comment, of course, on your blog
) but it reminds me of the time when Randy Harris at the Pepperdine Bible Lectures when mentioned David Lipscomb and someone gave out a very loud, “Amen.”
Harris then said, “For a moment I thought I was back in Nashville because its only there that Lipscomb gets louder “amens” than Jesus.”
Randy, Are you on twitter?? I can’t find you. To follow the exciting moments of my day, I’m at kristicw.
