I am unclear on that issue. What I am clear on is that even in Biblical times God offered his love, even to those he punished. I don't think it is for us to know whether or not God is punishing Haiti and we certainly shouldn't be happy about it if he is. However, it is for us to share God's love. I believe God weeps with those who are suffering. But somebody someplace is always going to approach things from that point of view - of punishment. I had people in my own family who leaned toward the devastation from Katrina as God's wrath on New Orleans!
