Easter Sunday
I enjoy Easter Sunday – the energy and enthusiasm – the expectation and license to be creative.
Our installment of paint with the preacher went very well (i thought).
Our timing was right on – which is a credit to the painter not the preacher.
I so enjoy working with our resident artist. I enjoy the freedom of artistic expression and the way the scene unfolds before your eyes.
I also can’t help but wonder the difference it would make if next Sunday we all showed up with the same enthusiasm, energy, expectation and license to be creative.
As my kids would say, “I feel you Bro.”
“…if next Sunday we all showed up with the same enthusiasm, energy, expectation and license to be creative.” That would be rather strong evidence you were no longer preaching for a church of Christ! I see this enthusiasm, energy, expectation and license to be creative just about every Sunday. It is very refreshing.
I still have leftover art supplies. We can have the entire congregation take turns at creating a painting on the same canvas. Sure would beat pew sitting.
Would to God we would have that energy and enthusiasum all through the year!
Your comments, for some reason, made me think of a long-ago cartoon I read. There was this terrific traffic jam, you see, and you could see a church building at the end of this road where the traffic jam was. Two people were standing outside their cars. One was saying, “Looks like all these people who go to church every Sunday throughout the year could at least stay at home on Easter!”
